A 60 kW solar power plant was installed in the infectious diseases hospital in Khmelnitsky. It will work together with batteries with a capacity of 40 kWh.
Thanks to this, three buildings of the medical institution will have a stable power supply during power outages. Also, every year the hospital will be able to save UAH 400,000 on electricity fees.
The project is implemented within the framework of the “Light for Hospitals” program implemented by the  under the coordination of the Ministry of Health of  Ukraine and Yellowblue Force Foundation with the financial support of Citi Ukraine. The installation of the power plant was accompanied by Ecoclub.
Khmelnitsky infectious diseases hospital serves about 250 thousand people, most of whom are children. The hospital has пʼять departments, clinical diagnostic and bacteriological laboratories, X-ray and ultrasound rooms. In total – 150 beds for inpatient treatment, of which 11 – intensive care beds with artificial lung ventilation devices.
In general, Ukrainian healthcare institutions are provided with about 12 thousand generators for uninterrupted power supply. Already more than 90 hospitals have solar stations with panels. By the end of the year, it is planned to equip 200 health care institutions with solar stations.
We are grateful to all partners for their help and effective cooperation. Despite the difficult time, together we make Ukraine strong and energy independent.
