Area 1. Osteosynthesis implants
For the treatment of complex bone injuries of arms or legs in military personnel and civilians who have been injured due to Russian aggression.

The Foundation’s team cooperates with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine to identify the hospitals most involved in the treatment of patients with complex limb injuries caused by the war.

The Foundation’s team, which includes medical experts and experts in procurement and strategic sourcing and communications, carefully studied the market of osteosynthesis implants and the needs of the hospitals.

We select suppliers through competitive and transparent tender procedures. We use framework agreements for the supply of the implants, where each hospital is the customer and beneficiary, and the Foundation is the payer for the implants supplied by the selected supplier.

The operating system we chose is convenient for all the parties, transparent, and effective, because:

  • each hospital receives a set of surgery tools free of charge
  • the supplier’s experts provide training on the use of implants
  • doctors receive a basic stock of implants, and can order the necessary implants for each planned surgery
  • the foundation receives reports from hospitals and suppliers, and carefully monitors the use of funds and implants

The donor for the pilot project is the international pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.
