Solar energy for health care stability: more public hospitals in Ukraine to receive backup energy sources

Sambir Central District Hospital, Lviv region
• 55 kW solar capacity
• 38 kWh backup battery

This facility serves over 225,000 residents, housing critical departments like intensive care, surgery, cardiology, and emergency services – all requiring uninterrupted power.

Fastiv Multidisciplinary Hospital of Intensive Care, Kyiv region
• 81 kW solar capacity
• 51 kWh backup battery

This hospital serves about 150,000 residents and the inpatient departments with 308 beds. Stable electricity supply is essential to power critical equipment – from X-ray machines to laboratory analyzers – ensuring continuous, high-quality medical care.

Implementing of these projects helps hospitals to be prepared for power breakdowns and blackouts in such a challenging time.

Huge thanks for continuous support to Citi Ukraine. This collaboration will enhance energy independence and once again support Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.

Both projects are being technically supervised by NGO Ecoclub – ensuring high-quality and efficient installation.
